One of my studio members said you should remove your gadget item before starting the party and then re-equip it after. Is this actually true and if so what benefits does this cause?

I had replied to this, but I decided to delete my post because I discovered that a post I made this morning was deleted/censored for some obscure reason unknown to me. As a result, I have no more interest in posting in this forum.

No idea what you are talking about. I see no evidence of any posts being deleted or hidden.

One of the things that determine how hard the opponents are in a party, is your stats. They are scaled to you. If you go in weak, so are your opponents.
I tried 'naked party' once or twice, so what I have to say is not statistically valid - but it didn't seem to help.
Most of the time this advice is followed by the advice to re-equip stuff that makes it easier for you to pass the next test. You CAN manipulate your gear to get through parties more easily. I have helped underpowered avatars play with equipment so they can more easily do parties, as part of a 'muscle-building' regimen.
The basic idea is that the game checks your stats at the end of each party mission, and sets the difficulty of the next party mission based upon those stats. So, drop your good combat gear in favor of a skill set, before going into the skill test. After you finish the skill test, your next opponent will be based upon a stupid combat setup... so re-equip your combat gear and smoke that opponent. That means your gear is set up for combat rather than a skill test, so equip the appropriate skill set and smoke that test. Rinse, repeat.

So, as I suspected, the checks are done BETWEEN missions, not just once at the start of the party. Thanks for confirming that, CaptC!

After observing the behavior of party missions after the patch, I'm now going to have to disagree with CaptC on when the gear/stat checks happen. I now believe they happen as soon as you click that start button. I put on stat gear going into a stat mission, it matches it. I switch to fight gear and start a fight mission, the opponent matches me, including any enhancements I have on. I'm not ready to give up on keeping stat gear, but it's looking like that party's over.
Yeah, I meant to do that.

I will take your word for it. I have been running Bernies and Wheelz trying for the new sets, haven't run Whip in a while. And Bernies and Wheelz are too easy for me to bother changing clothes.
Perhaps the behavior changed, but I am quite certain it USED to work the way I described.

Oh I agree that it USED to work that way. I'm just noticing a new pattern after the update.

Personally when i go to a party i remove my panties. It is always a great success!
Well, while the rest of you geeks (and I say this as a number crunching geek too) were mired discussing game theory in earnest, I think some of you may have missed one of the funniest responses I've ever read on this forum.
Oh well... I laughed anyways.

I am surprised Mimesis wears any in the first place. Or that if she is wearing any, they don't have holes worn into the front. LOL
You will get used to her.
She makes me laugh in just about every one of her posts.
