So basically the options are refinements, washing machine, altering avatar, altering your style, re-rolling the sexshop store, or using the sewing machine, (there are others like speeding up missions but I find those stupid).

I don't separate non-bought from bought. All are used for the same purpose, to further my game play to best effect.

Other than my boosts, the main thing I spend diamonds on, and probably the most worthwhile, is the 9 diamonds spent for a refresh my movie choices (not a poll option).

Mostly refinement for me.  But my server is so easy I don't even spend much diamonds.

I agree accept diamonds that AREN'T bought can't be donated to the studio you belong to.

 If it is incorrect that is weird because it won't let me use my diamonds to donate to the studio i was planning on investing all of my diamonds in the studio but it wouldn't let me. Also you are wrong about me disagreeing with everything I use them on refinements because its the best thing that i can use them for without being able to boost the studios coffers.

Some diamonds can be donated, some can not. It depends on how you get them on whether than can be donated. Saying only bought diamonds can be donated is incorrect.

Oh I see my mistake, can you tell me what scenarios you can't donate them in?

Not sure, as I said, I never separate the two and since I do buy some now and then, I have no idea when I am giving ones I earned or donated.
