I had made a post about whether or not I should change my old shoes with new ones a while ago but the refinement of the new ones improved and I didn't know how to change the original post so I made a new one which I believe a mod deleted. Is there a way to edit a post you've made?

There is a brief period of time during which the original poster may edit. I think it is something like 30 minutes. After that time, no one can edit except moderators.

 

If you need to modify a post after that time, use the report button. Then tell us what you need to change.

 

Please note that moderators are not editors, nor are we typesetters for you. Simple changes we will be happy to make. If you have extensive updates to make, you should probably just ask us to hide the post, and then re-enter a better one.

Editing also generally doesn't reflag the post as unread.  So people that read it before you edited won't know there is new information there.

I am mainly concerned with how to delete a post I've made (haven't found the ability), but when I try to edit my posts (it is within 30 min of posting) The button to submit (or save) the edit is unable to be clicked

If you need to delete a post, report it. (We actually never delete anything, we just hide it.)
