I can't imagine having the time to do 6 movies!  It's tough doing 3 at 3 hours each (if you're lucky enough to get them that long).

@lizbeth: Your calculation is wrong. Most of the studio have no film trophie, so they can make 3 movies. If your studio has a film trophy you can do 4 movies, which is 33% more then 3. If your studio has 2 trophies you can make 5 movies, which is 66% more then 3.  The bonus in percentage is less when you compare a studio with one trophie vs a studio with two trophies.

You didn't say that for every film trophy you can make 33% additional movies, you said you can gain 33% additional *temple points* for every film trophy. Your words, so you can't change the goal post in an effort to be retroactively correct.

Therefore, you are still mistaken since the amount of temple points ANY movie generates varies entirely upon the length of the film a player selects. Either from among the 3 randomly presented options, or if one selects a shorter length film that rewards skill points, over a longer length film that gives no skill points. Since the first thing is random, and the second comes down to player choice, you simply cannot apply a static value of +33% temple points for each additional film a player makes, whether it's 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, or 6.

If, and ONLY if, the amount of temple points a film gave was a flat, static number, say 100 per film completed as an example, and was not effected by film length (and thus the 3 random options presented and player choice) would your assertion/math be right.

You are arguing math with not simply the strongest player on the server, but a perfectionist and a math major, who literally only remained an honor student for 10+ years because my math grades buoyed my mediocre quarterly performance in several other topics. LOL

On an unrelated note, congratulations to Spiderbabes on a server first FOUR film trophies. There is only one server first for anything, and you got this one.  So if anyone is unhappy, don't complain to me in messages now. ROFL


P.S. When saying to Xerto "You are still mistaken" I debated with myself between the words mistaken, incorrect, or wrong, and I sincerely tried to select the one of those three that I felt would be the least aggressive or combative.

Wooohooo!!
I reached the Nirvana and i am finally again only focusing on my pussy!! :-)
In this moment i am in the toilets of my office and i can say that literally!!!!
After long debates on the film trophies and after we all agreed that they screwed the game and gave a huge advantage to the big studios, i have decided that I DON'T CARE!!! :-D
When i see our studio today, i see a bunch of horny and fun people really enjoying each others' company. And all who are joining us simply witness the fact that there is no other place like the DCS!!!! :-D
And what comes out of that? In spite of being the least developed studio we are constantly among the tops: boosters don't matter!! Only people do!!
Still i will bother you all, and possibly the developers, for their idiotic decisions. I apologise for that.

Gaining four trophies was as much accidental as when you got three, Lizbeth.

 

We had to put our challenge in before we knew the result of our defense. We knew when we put the challenge in there was about a 20% chance we would end up with four. We figured the odds were low enough, we didn't worry about it.

 

But then the dice came up boxcars.

 

Of course, now that we are this close, we are semi-hoping we lose our courage trophy, so we can have a shot at actually taking five. We wouldn't want to keep it - our OCD players who HAVE to do EVERYTHING are going crazy today, and I have no desire to burn our people out.

 

But it's not ALL about the glory, sometimes it's fun to just lark about a bit ...the screenshot of 100% studio penalty would be fun to have.

As part of the 10-31-2017 game change:

 

"Only 21 films are needed now to maximize the frequency the film will appear in the voting for the awards"

 

I am hopeful this will address the core of the problem, and put all studios back on equal footing in the Big Bang Awards. Now, I will not purport to suggest that the 2-3 weeks our members did exceptionally well, that I was tore up about it. I was genuinely happy for them. It didn't change much for me, I got a top 10 for a change, but I still knew I would never win both because I am unwilling to spend diamonds to make a more unique, creative film worthy of a win, and I am wise enough to understand that the majority of the player base isn't going to want to help me get MORE skill points. LOL

 

Still, for the sake of all players in all studios, reverting back to a system that rewarded both individual player quality and creativity, with an element of random luck, is an appreciated resolution. If something exists within the confines of the game that will give our members an advantage or benefit, I am obligated to pursue it, but that doesn't mean I am without empathy for the other studios, so let us hope for greater equality once more for all studios and members in the BBA voting. Thank you to the developers for this change.

 

 

As for the 5 film trophy achievement, just as a gamer who appreciates unique and obscure achievements in any game, I'd love to see a screen shot of that!

With TEN trophies out there that aid in making extra movies - what if a studio with 4 trophies went after one with 3.  Is that not close enough a battle?  Or is it just as unlikely to find a studio with 3 movie making trophies as it is with 4 ?

Since the voting bug was patched, if you look at the top 20 in the BBA so far, we have someone in third who produced their film without a studio. They literally have zero studio mates helping them with the "from your studio" words to get them extra votes, and they're top 5. I am seeing a lot of players from small studios, and many fresh names, and not so much the usual two studio domination we have been seeing the past couple of months.

So I am encouraged that this new game mechanic will make for a much more fair, level playing field again. It's early still, but these are good signs

Well, I will just say it this way. In my experience, support is not overly communicative... but that doesn't mean tickets are ignored. I have reason to believe that development does act on some tickets - they have helped me and studio mates in cases I can vouch for. 

 

But I also have reason to believe that they don't act nearly as often, merely to forum reports.

 

I understand that you might not want to bother with a ticket, but it is still the highest percent chance to get a bug fixed.

More that it is unlikely to find other studios with three movie trophies. That's 70% of the entire server supply in two studios, after all.

 

The only way a studio gets all five, I think, is via collusion. A studio with four trophies has to find a willing partner who only has one, and the partner studio needs to throw the fight.

 

We aren't even interested anymore. Holding four movie trophies for any length of time is an invitation to burnout. We are actively avoiding taking a fourth movie trophy.
