Should I replace my 50 strength, 427 stamina, 569 charisma, 388 Finesse, 1291 Damage gadget (with a 30% chance to deal out 45% if the triggering hit in 4 turns refinement).

 

with a 0 Strength, 486 Stamina, 381 Charisma, 644 Finesse, 1,358 Damage (with a 20%+ missile damage refinement)?

As always, it depends on what you are wanting.

Personally, I tend to swap those 2 refines as I get them with the item with the greater # of skills winning.  If fairly close, I'd keep the epic Rivet over the Balls.

 

I don't pay attention to the distribution of stats of an item, just the total # of skills gained when equipping it.
