I agree with HONCHO's post about needing categories for BBA awards. But I don't think you succeed in making an inclusive site by segregating Str8, Gay, and Fetish.  Maybe by creating new film "partners" and different scenarios the Film Covers could relate more to the title.  For example, I recently shot a film that received 25 votes.  It was "Hungry Sailors"...something or other.  I changed my outfits and spent a few dollars to change the background to a boat. It was obviously a gay film, and I still got votes.

 

Maybe the solution is simply in providing more of a variety in the film co-stars.  And having those options appear automatically when you reach "cover" level would be helpful. Women have several different options for girl on girl action. But male co-stars are limited.

I'd like to play the game my way rather than "win" the game by pleasing others.  So for me, I want more free choices (titles, cover photo, etc.) when making films such that I can at least do covers I enjoy.  Maybe give us 3 random titles (each one from different categories) and costars/poses to choose from.  I'm not going to spend money (even free game money) to make changes knowing it's not getting the film anywhere.

As a "free" player, I agree with this to an extent.  The film titles, need a re-working for sure.  Even in the Sex Shop one has an option of getting at least one free refresh.  Why not with the titles.  I'm not saying Playata has to lose money by giving the option of 3 free random titles, but at least one refresh would be nice.

 

Not only that, but film titles that generate someone's name should give the option of making the name customize-able.  Part of the fun, for some people, of playing the game is pretending to be this porn star character represented by your avatar.  I only picked the username "Sadie2," simply because "Sadie" was already taken.  So when I get lucky enough for the random title to generate a film title with my name, I still frown as it says "Sadie2's ..."  I cringe inside seeing that.  I'd like to be able to just enter my name "Sadie" in there and be done.  

 

A way around this would be to give an option of choosing a display name.  The display name could include a First and Last name option and the film titles that generate one's name, would select from the display name rather than the person's username.  I think this would make it more immersive.  Not only that, but people wanting to win BBAs would possibly desire to have a good-looking display name to show as titles such as "XXXTinaLover105_X's Party Hot Gangbangs in Space" would not look as good as something like "Tina Fey's Party Hot Gangbangs in Space" (ooo...making celebrity parody sex tapes, another idea...lol)

 

But anyway, this might be straying too far from the OP, so I apologize.  Maybe this idea might warrant another discussion in another idea thread.

 

As for the OP, I understand you more now that you clarified.  Yes, we were over-thinking things, but this idea seems to be taking shape.  I'm excited.

Well, I think there are as many male costars as female, and on nutaku, as many explicit male costars as female, as well. This suggestion means that Playata would need to add tags to each costar to determine appropriate film categories. I would be interested in what Playata might produce for an explicitly gay male costar, who would NOT be a default for hetero films, for example.  In other words, I think the potential exists for playata to expand upon the costars, based upon the categorization they would be already doing.

And overthinking is underrated. I believe it is actually misnamed. It is really just 'thinking'.
