I have been wondering and failed to find answer - is it possible to play the game without being shown to others as online?

but maybe without wanting it

the dueling top 9 game mechanic chooses from players online, so I doubt there's a way to hide your online status. would work against the dueling mechanic being able to select opponents

yes pretty sure there is no active way to hide

but maybe with bad connection or something the online status can go to offline i think or what ever

so best tactic is to stay online all the time, and make people wonder if you're really online or just afk

Depends upon what you are trying to do.

 

If you are trying to get everything ever said in studio chat, be online all the time. Surprise people when you pop into the conversation. "I can HEAR you!"

 

If you are trying to avoid being dueled by stronger opponents, avoid being on when they are also on.  (But they can still find you in the rankings list, so this only works if the opponent uses the duel screen.)

Everyone starts on the bottom. I strongly suggest staying low in glory until you can compete at higher levels.

As a player that started in eraly December....

 

Use the rankings button to find foes if your glory is highr than your level is to win.

 

Successes for defeats exist, so don't be too afraid to loss duels you pick.

 

On the fight list or the rankings list, pick the green stats, and/or less duel modifications.
