i think the problem is that they calculate too much with former diamond throwers

So I did some math about the triple show thing and this is what I came up with.

 

With 25% booster show times are 4min for one and 11min for 3.

 

60min convention:

Single Shows: 14 with out batteries

                        16 w/ 4 batteries.  Allowing for lag.

Triple Shows: 15 with a slim chance at 16 w/o batteries. (5 diamonds spent)

                       21 with a good chance at 22 w/ 4 batteries  and all 3x (7 diamonds)

                       21 w/ 4 batteries for 3x shows and then single shows after (4 diamonds) (4x3+9)

 

90min Convention:

Single Shows: 22 w/o batteries

                        24 with

Triple Shows: 24 w/o batteries (8 diamonds)

                       30 with (10 diamonds)

                       28 w/ batteries for 3x only (4 diamonds) (4x3+16)

 

Guess it wasn't a good deal most of the time after all...
