Welcome to the Garage Interview where we meet some of the most unexpected pornstars in our virtual world. This month, we interview RosyCheekz.
1. Hi! How are you? Please tell us your username, and the servers you play on. Tell us - what motivated you to choose the name and server(s) for your star?
Hi there. I'm RosyCheekz on Nutaku1. I discovered BBE while playing another game on Nutaku. Originally I thought "Meh!", but the game kinda grows on you. As to why RosyCheekz: to quote Sgt. Provo from "The Green Berets": "It sings."
2. Tell us about yourself. How was your life before becoming a pornstar?
After serving over a decade in the US Army, I drifted around a few jobs (Delivery driver, bouncer) before I wound up in the restaurant business. I started as a dishwasher in an Italian restaurant and eventually wound up as a chef. Needless to say after 8 hours of cooking I was in no mood to cook at home!
3. Any hobby outside of the film-industry you would want to tell us about?
I play tabletop miniature wargames, in various genres. Though I play fantasy and scifi games, I much prefer historical. And since I paint my own miniatures, I have a lot of reference books that I peruse on a regular basis. But BBE is the first online game I have put much effort into, so I'm really quite the noob.
4. Who's your favourite pornstar? (i.e. Clara Morgane, Katsuni, Evan Stone)
As to favorite pornstar, I guess I'm old school. I really like Annette Haven's work. She's one of the better actresses, despite the somewhat hokey dialogue (Dialogue? In a porno?????) she got saddled with.
5. How did you start playing Big Bang Empire? Did you hear about the game from your friends, or maybe an advertisement?
As I said before, I found BBE while playing another Nutaku game. Being new to the online gaming scene, I kinda tried the whole roster of games they had. BBE just struck a chord with me, and I've been here ever since.
6. When did you start to play Big Bang Empire?
I started in April of 2016. I remember at first I just tried everything and pretty much kept to myself. A couple of times I contacted higher level players asking for some tips. For the most part they were pretty friendly, though the tips were few and far between. I even started my own studio (to complete the successes), but soon found that was kinda a dead end, especially after being hammered by multi-member studios. So I joined the first studio that asked me. That worked out ok, but there was something missing. The biggest contributor to the chat room was the game itself. I didn't realize how weird that was until I joined Godly Anal Orgasms.
7. What do you like the most in the game?
I like the interaction between players, both in the studio chat room and thru game mail. Even though I'm kinda on the lurker side, it is what has kept me playing all this time.
8. When you log in to the game, what do you do first?
The first thing I do when I log in (or come back to the game: I tend to leave the game on even when I'm not here) is click on the Mission Complete tab. I almost always have a mission going on when I log off (or nod off), so I have to clear that before I can do anything else. Then I check to see if I have any mail (It's usually battery requests, as I always help those). Then it's off to the chat room to see what I've missed. That's another reason I leave the game up: if I log off I tend to miss out on a lot. There's always somebody coming up with a great idea and I'm not afraid to copy. After that I guess I go back and start a new mission and then work my way along the lower task bar in order.
9. What are your favourite items?
My favorite items would have to be my ring with the 30% pornstar sticker (absolutely vital when your studio has multiple trophies) and my 100% smelling salts shoes. I've lost track of the number of times they've made the difference between winning and losing a fight. Probably my favorite feature of the game is the sewing machine. I can change my look without having to have multiple outfits with the same refinements.
10. Is there any special moment in your career as a pornstar you would like to share with us?
Probably the most memorable episode in the game was when I got a message from Lizbeth saying they liked my film title ("Schrodinger's Pussy") and thought my sense of humour would fit in well with GAO. A few weeks later there was an opening, and the rest is history. It was such a shock to be recruited out of the blue by a top 10 studio!
11. In your opinion, what is your greatest achievement so far in Big Bang Empire?
I guess my proudest achievement was when I actually won one of the BBAs. Not one of the weeks when EVERYBODY won, but people actually saw my film and liked it enough to vote for it. And this was before the film trophies skewed the BBAs all out of whack (dig, dig). Of course it had to be before the #1 film success came out.
12. Have you set any particular goals to achieve?
Really, my only goal is to enjoy myself playing the game. Once that ceases to be true...
13. Have you taken part in a convention? What's your best position in which to qualify?
I actually came in first in a convention back in my early career, back when I was spending diamonds like crazy. Now that I'm a bit more frugal, the best I've gotten is in the top 10 a couple of times. Nowadays I just plug away at them when they don't interfere with other things.
14. You are one of the top players in Big Bang Empire. What is the secret of your success?
The secret to my success? Just keep plugging away and don't be afraid to pick other peoples' brains. There are a lot of people out there with a lot more experience, so ask questions and pay attention to the chat. You can learn a lot just by listening.
15. What are your tips for beginners?
Aside from what I just said about my success, I guess my biggest tips would be to pay attention to the successes: there's a lot of rewards in there and once you get bigger, things like stats cost a bunch.
And don't get too anxious. Rome wasn't built in a day, and your star won't get in the top tier in a few weeks. Take joy in the little things, the big things will come. It just takes time.
16. Big Bang Empire creates friendships. Have you created any kind of bond with another player? Tell us who, and how.
Probably my closest bond'd be with Lizbeth, our senior producer. She brought me in to GAO and we've just hit it off. There have been a couple of others who've dropped out of the game (I miss them a lot) that were close. Like I said, I'm kinda the lurker type, so I don't have a lot of what you'd call friends, but GAO is such a friendly place that it seems like we're all a family instead of friends per se.
17. Which boosters do you usually buy? Which do you deem the most important?
I always buy the diamond skill booster: it's well worth it at the higher levels of play. The other two I leave at the 25% level. The only exception to this is the Mission booster. If the week's temple calls for conventions or the number of a particular mission type, I'll splurge on the diamond booster. Otherwise I get by just fine on the 25%. I used to run the diamond booster all the time, but I found I often had a hard time using up all my energy. I still do sometimes when life interferes with my game!
19. Your star is one ranked with top glory. Can you advise us on how you choose your duels?
When I started out, I chose my duels from the dueling list. I looked at the folks there and chose the ones that I thought (from looking at stats) I could beat at least 1 0f 3. Usually if I did that well I came out well ahead, and if I didn't I didn't lose that much. Now I go to the ranking list and check out a few of the folks above me. If they look beatable I'll try them out. There are a couple of them up there that if I can catch them without missile equipped I can beat them for a fair chunk of glory. Other than that I drop down a bit below me and hit folks I can beat for a bit of glory. At the lower levels it's easier to find folks higher in glory than you who just are easy pickings (if they don't have decent refinements, for example). Don't just look at their stats, but check out their refinements and what missiles they have or have not equipped. Don't be afraid to settle for 20 or 30 glory. +20 is better than -20. I usually have a rotation I go thru, but if someone's beefed up too much, I'll skip them. Also keep your ears open. Often you'll find a normally unbeatable player that's doffed all their gear in order to lower their glory. Help them out, and yourself, too!
20. What is your favorite Temple Challenge - and which ones are your least?
My favorite temple used to be the film one. But with the film trophies now, it's not as fair as it used to be. I guess now it'd be the dueling temple or the selling things off temple. Neither one interferes with grinding out successes and I'm kind of a packrat, so... Least favorite has to be the convention and the party one. The convention one because it takes away from my spending all my energy and favors the big spenders. I hate the party one because it's all based on luck, and mine sucks! Try as I might, I usually only find 1 or 2 tickets a week during that temple. Other weeks: 3 or 4. Go figure!
