Today after the game update I noticed there's a new tab, called "Temple", after the "Big Bang Awards" tab in the rankings list. 
What's that? 
What is "Temple"?

It's still not sure, but it's some studio team effort thing. I think it will get more clear when it starts.

Awesome. My studio members are all asking me, haha! We're all really excited about it!
I love that new dynamics are constantly being introduced into this game. Really keeps things fresh and allows for new planes of strategising!

The Temple will begin when we start doing tasks to earn points for our studio. The Temple will be the ranking of studios based on the points their members have earned. It is somewhat like the way the Big Bang Awards but instead of votes to gain ranks your studio members have to complete tasks to earn points to climb the rankings.

I am wondering is the Temple part of the game a way to weed out the smaller studios? I am in a studio now that the top studios are constantly hunting our players and this to me will heat it up more. I like the ideal but something needs to be done about player stealing.

Nope temple is a way for studios to get diamonds.
Most studio's want the #1 slot that Angels have have had for a long while now (US2 that is). So other studio's are trying to get the best players they can for there studio's. So it is down to your players and if they are loyal to your studio or not.
I have had them try to recruit me as a boss and some of my members but you know what not one has left to go to a bigger studio.

They idea behind it is actually to give smaller studios a chance to earn diamonds and notes to help with expansion but I definitely understand your concern about smaller studios not being able to keep pass with larger studios. I will pass the concern along.
