So, I saw this movie a few nights ago on a freebie internet movie page. Lovelace. It was a drama/documentary (2013 release)about the actress Linda Lovelace and circumstances surrounding the filming of the 1972 blue movie Deep Throat.
I didn't see DT when it came out. I was a child then, but I remember there being somewhat of a fuss about it. I recall my Mother giving my Dad hell because he went to it. There was actually a theater in my little home town that played adult films. I watched it about a year ago online. That was recent enough to get a chuckle out of some of the cleaned up reenactments in Lovelace. The original made me laugh, not only because of the concept but also the total trip through the wayback machine with music, clothes, etc. Kind of the same way this game makes me giggle at times. The documentary, I found to be very moving in terms of what that girl went through in her 17 day career. like anything, I'm sure there are other sides to the story.
I know neither movie is new but I found the later one Lovelace to be compelling. Worth a look for anyone that hasn't seen it. While it isn't X rated, I would warn that it is intense in places with violence and adult situations.
