I did the same things on UK forums, Jenny. I am also trying to help players, by changing titles to the actual subject, so people with the same question can find this post.

 

I am sorry, I forgot to thank you for starting this post.

 

I should probably have posted that pointer to the UK forum note last night... but it was unclear if the Nutaku and US2 servers would be affected, and I simply couldn't stay up until 3am my time to check after reset. I did get up early though, and found your note already in place.

My guess is that the only one of the rewards is causing the problem, Kitekat.  Maybe it is the skills, maybe it is the diamonds... who knows?

 

Players who don't get that particular reward may not be affected.

A bug in BBE?  A bug?  I'm shocked I say... shocked.

 

That never happens due to constant diligence to playability by the game devs and support staff.

I think people who are able to solve this problem are still fulfilling (Bavarian beer, sparkling wine and sausage) impressions from the festive celebrations of the old end and the beginning of the New Year.

And the problem will begin to solve until tomorrow

I'd like to say a big thank you to the people who worked on this fix over the Holiday - excellent customer service, which far exceeded expectations

Captc while I appreciate someone at BBE taking the time to fix this problem, the fact that it happened at all shows a systemic weakness in the code of the game.  There are game breaking bugs littered throughout BBE.  Screens don't render correctly.  The wrong background is paired with foreground, etc., etc., etc.

 

Let's be honest, the focus of game development is in creating new MTX it's not in making the game more playable, balanced or reliable.

 

If it were, I would be able to get through more than 5-7 turns without hitting a "unknown error" and having to restart.

 

Again.

 

And again.

 

And again.

 

It may be fun to generate new ways to encourage MTX (in other words, diamond purchases), but that doesn't make a good game.  It makes a grind fest punctuated by an overpriced in-game economy.  19 diamonds for a 1:100000XXXX chance to get an epic item upgrade?  It's shortsightedness that drives players out of BBE every day.

If you are experiencing bugs that crash your game, please document them with a ticket. Support will gladly work with you to reproduce the problem and get a detailed explanation to development. Game crashes are always given very high priority.

 

(As an example, this problem was fixed despite the holiday, for which full marks should be given.)

 

As to the rest of your complaint, Jaxson: Of COURSE, the primary focus of development is revenue production. That's just economics 101. Complaining that a for-profit entity exhibits a profit motive is simply not a useful observation.

 

You may have an argument that the developers are potentially unbalancing the game TOO far towards cash players, which is always a concern in freemium games. I think that BBE has been successful for a long time, primarily because they have been very good about balancing free vs. premium players, including scaling back features like the original movie trophies that destroyed competitiveness in the BBA. YMMV, of course.

 

You can make an argument that development should focus more on bug-fixing.  But note, I think that means WE, as players, also have to take the responsibility to report bugs. And that means tickets.  As we have said many times, complaints in these forums are not sufficient.

 

But having said all that... I completely agree that Misty is way too stingy. (LOL) But I theorize that is a price of success. I believe Misty gets progressively more stingy as you increase in level, although that is just a feeling, not currently backed up by data.
