Some people including me, use the friend list for duelling. If you go through your targets, a few issues come up:

 

1. Some stars are stronger than others, but you can pick on them, if you have a skill booster.

2. Some stars are very weak and are only interesting, if you need a high number of wins - e.g. in duel temples or to round up casino chips.

3. Some stars are actual friends and you dont want to pick on them at all.

 

It makes a lot of sense to use the friend list for duelling, because the stars list includes lots of people outmatching you for one reason or another and memorizing all that make good targets is frankly impossible. The stars list can also be very buggy with people appearing and disappearing for no apparent reason - in the worst case, sending you to the bottom of the list. Try selelcting "stery" and youll know what i mean  Why the heck does it have to be a regexp and not a star-id!?! Not to speak of the horrible performance of the stars list since html5!

 

Also having yourself in the list doesnt really make sense. You know your level and everytime you bring up a stars home, you see a detailled comparison with your stats. Neither in duelling nor when picking a friend to chat or compare, do you need yourself in that list. So it would make sense to make that a checkbox or rather hide yourself altogether.

 

Some people might have a few roleplaying partners or chat buddies they visit more often - those would also not be duelling targets!

 

Ive been wanting for a while to have multiple friend lists for these different uses. Having a simple dropdown like the one thats already there with custom titles would be a huge help to some.

 

Having a black framing around the star names would also helps. Theyre often unreadable and the use of boob eyes as profile pics is kind of inflationary, although its not really original or destinctive It sometimes becomes hard to know who is who!

Yeah, no. I just use the ranking list. Much easier, much faster. Now if you want a self generated list, I can go with that.

how on earth is the ranking list faster? and how do you handle people popping out? look for them in the bbas instead? good, if it works for you, but i find it super cumbersome.

 

usually i would check a star in the rankings, then have to check the popup whether theyre a good target instead of seeing all the info in the star page. and if you go to the star page, its an extra click to get there and an extra click to get back to the list. for the specials, its actually better, but what matters is the delta in stats and those dont include a comparison at all.

 

the friend list is just there all the time and you dont have to skip as much, if you have your targets fixed. and i cant for the life of me remember 10+ duel targets

I find the duel list a decent option but I am quite high on the ladder so nearly everyone that shows up on the list I can hit.  Once I hit them 3 times, they are automatically removed from the list and I continue picking new options.  Usually that is perfectly fine for my 40 or so duels per day.

Since I am #1 on us2, and can beat everyone, it's quite easy to start at #2 and work my way down the list.

On nutaku, I am not attempting to compete for ranking, and when I duel, it's for rewards so I drop to the part of the rankings list where I get only +1 glory, where I can win items and diamonds. If people quit the game, they quit, and I don't care if I hit them again or not.

 

What I am not understanding is why you don't start where you can beat people in the rankings and work your way down the list, maximizing the amount of glory you can get, but you do you

thats precisely what im doing, but everyone has a quite different setup when it comes to missiles or no missiles, types and quality of refines etc i could never just duel straight down. i do, but with more gaps than targets, hence the friend list is much more usable!

 

its quite obvious, being nr 1 on a server is an exception
