True enough. But the map will be glowing, trying to tell you there is a convention going on.
I usually end a mission, and the notice pops up just after.

I'm not sure what is takes for the developers to hear our cries of pain and misery but enough with the 90 minute or 2 hour conventions. Losing a solid 2 hours of farming time to do a convention is very frustrating yet every one of these horrible Convention Temples ONLY has conventions that are very long. No one wants this length. If you have to, increase the frequency of the temples during the event but cap them at 1 hour MAX.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse but c'mon developer - enough already with the 2-hour long conventions. Each successive click I do on a 2-hour convention makes me hate this game a little bit more. Please cap the length at 1 hour for the good of game. Also, I refuse to spend the 99 diamonds on the Polyamory if that is your evil plan.

A suggestion, one I follow myself: Don't do conventions if they are too long or interfere with your game play.

If your studio is full of aggressive temple warriors, the peer pressure can be hard to resist. LOL

Hi E.D. welcome to the forums...
Conventions should be more party-like IMO, sine a convention is a big party. I also think the conventions and parties both should not be temple objectives
I see your point... of notable difference is that the Party-mechanic has recently changed with the the Nov.2017 update where a max of one can be played per day, whereas Conventions are controlled by their schedule which can be more than once a day.
I think most players would agree with you, Conventions are not a welcomed Temple challenge for a variety of reasons, most notably because it does tend to chain you to the game for some 90 minutes to 2 hours usually... while the jury may still be out deliberating if Party is a worthy Temple with the most recent changes. For those that can readily find a Party Ticket (or those that are willing to purchase one), they might think it is worthy... otherwise, maybe not so much?
Thanks for your contribution...

What I mean by more party-like is mix it up. Don't just have the same short time missions all the way through. Make them vary in length and throw in some skill and fight missions and have lesser rewards along the way. Maybe if a convention is in danger of failing, hit all participants with a big skill mission that pushes a lot of fans Some longer missions would encourage more instant finishes for those that care to do that. For the rest of us, it's enough time to hit the fridge.

it is lol. However, I only want to put a certain amount of time online and often, I would rather burn energy than attempt to pick up another 200 points for the temple

I am very tired of stating this over and over again. As bad as Convention Temples are capping the length at 60 minutes would at least make the Conventions slightly less horrible but guess what??? 2 Conventions so far and its been a 90 minute Con followed by a 2hr Con. What the hell? My NU1 and UK1 studio are very, very active in temples but we are now BOYCOTTING Convention temples. No diamonds will be spent as well. Keep up the Cons and you will lose many players (and many diamond spenders).
Enough with Convention Temples and for the love of God, no more Conventions at any time over 1 hour in length.

You have apparently never been a vendor at a convention. They are deadly serious business to a fair number of the people at the convention.

Convention temples are the least favorite type. However they have to have them sometimes, because they game has to generate revenue if it is to continue to exist. This is understood.
That said, giving the player base the least popular temple type during the week of Christmas, comes across like putting coal in our stockings. LOL
Just an opinion

Hey, they gotta pay for those Christmas presents somehow. What? You want them to WORK for a living?

I'm not a fan of convention temples, but will take part if I can.
I understand why people don't want to do cons this week, or don't like how long they are. My concern is that the target for the number of visitors is too high for these cons, I think this has been said in another thread.
I am seeing targets of over 5m and just recently over 6m for the cons I have been in, and I still need a successful con for the Christmas event. I know that there are lower numbers of players for cons this week, so can the target numbers be set much lower?

One last Christmas gift from Nutaku: a Temple con in Shangri La (lvl 250+). Thanks a lot, Gilligan.

Yeah, that was a weird scheduling decision. People of all levels still need a successful convention, so they put one in a zone that only a small percentage can access. Oh, and it succeeded too, which kinda sucks for everyone under 250. Like I said, I get that the game has to generate revenue to exist, I accept that they need a mechanic from time to time to incentivize additional diamond purchases, but come on, but cut us a break on xmas week ) LOL
